November 2018 – FRIM conducted Identification of Ecotourism Activities and Potential Packages workshop at Cheringin Hills Resort and Spa, Bentong, Pahang, from 21st to 22nd November 2018. The objective of the workshop was to identify potential ecotourism activities and marketable package development. The workshop was participated by 48 participants from local ecotourism operators and various government agencies as well as private sectors and NGO. The workshop was assisted by experts from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and MOTAC officers to help on development of ecotourism packages and designing package based on market segment. The workshop also discussed the identification and enhancement of the existing Unique Selling Point (USP) of Ulu Tampik Waterfall as well as Kampung Janda Baik. The workshop has given knowledge and ideas benefited the participants in various aspects including understanding of the National Ecotourism Plan (2016-2025), developing ecotourism cluster, and leverage marketing through digital medium for promoting Community Based-Ecotourism (CBET) in Janda Baik.
